Kada Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2, 2026

Kada records voice notes on iPhone and Apple Watch. Recording works without an account. Cloud transcription and connected agents are optional account features. This policy explains what stays on your devices and what is sent to the Kada service.

Information stored on your devices

Your recordings, playback files, and recording context are saved on the device that recorded them. The iPhone and Watch keep independent recordings; audio is not transferred directly between them. Context includes time, time zone, device and battery details, recording events, and audio format. If you separately enable the relevant sources, it can also include location, movement and activity, and HealthKit readings and saved workouts. Kada reads HealthKit data but does not write to HealthKit. Location, motion, and health collection are off until you enable them.

Information sent to Cloud

If you sign in on iPhone or pair a Watch with your account, new recordings upload to Cloud by default for transcription. You can turn off automatic uploads. Recordings made before you signed in or paired upload only when you choose them. Context sharing is on by default for new Cloud recordings and can be turned off separately. If it is on, the complete saved recording context, including any optional sensor data you collected, is uploaded after the audio. Selecting audio from an older recording does not automatically share its context.

The service stores uploaded audio, note titles and other content, transcripts, summaries, edits, and the context you choose to share. It also receives your search terms when you search Cloud notes. Your account uses an email address and an account identifier; sign-in and agent authorization require authentication data. The app stores its session credential in the device Keychain. The service and its hosting providers may keep technical request logs, which can include Cloud search requests.

How information is used and shared

We use this information to store and play your notes, transcribe and organize them, provide account and agent access, operate the service, and protect it from abuse. Cloud audio and transcript text needed for those features may be processed by Kada-operated services or by third-party transcription and AI providers, including OpenAI when that option is configured. Hosting and storage providers also process information to operate Cloud. We do not sell your recordings or use them for advertising or cross-app tracking.

When you approve a connected agent, it can access only the note, transcript, metadata, or write permissions you selected. You can revoke an agent’s access in Settings → Manage connected agents.

Keeping and deleting information

Local recordings remain on their recording device until you delete them, except that the iPhone may remove its audio after at least 30 days following a confirmed Cloud upload, and only after it verifies that the remote audio is still available. Unuploaded audio is kept locally. Watch audio is not automatically removed on this schedule. Turning off a sharing setting affects future uploads and does not remove context already shared.

Cloud notes remain in your account until you delete them. Deleting a Cloud note hides it immediately and schedules its stored audio for removal. In the iPhone app, Settings → Account → Delete account requests deletion of the account, its Cloud notes, and stored Cloud audio; it does not delete local recordings. Copies in service provider backups and operational logs may remain after deletion according to the providers’ retention schedules. Contact us to ask about those schedules or request help deleting your information.
